10 Star Challenge
The BDAV 10 Star Challenge campaign offers the Victorian building design fraternity the opportunity to design
10-Star energy efficient homes, and to compete for an award for the best 10-Star designs. The 10-Star Challenge is for conceptual projects that combine admirable architecture with efficient planning solutions and materials utilisation. In 2012, entry submissions were invited in two categories: single dwellings, and multi-residential projects (units, townhouses, apartments). Submissions for the 2012 Challenge closed on 30 April 2012. Finalists in the 2012 Challenge will be announced shortly. The winner will be announced at the BDAV's Annual Dinner on Friday, 27 July 2012. Details about the winner will be posted to this site shortly after 27 July 2012.
Challenge Ambassador
The BDAV is delighted that prominent sustainable development advocate, Rob Gell, has agreed to be the Challenge Ambassador. "I'm excited about the competition, and very proud to be in the role of ambassador," said Rob Gell. "This campaign will help the design community focus on the benefits of sustainable design, particularly with the introduction in 2011 of the minimum 6-star energy ratings in Victoria for new homes and major renovations".
Challenge Sponsor
The 10-Star Challenge is proudly supported by Kingspan Insulation, and the BDAV thanks them for their support.
