“The clients wanted to renovate their Brighton East home and achieve a number of cultural and social ambitions, as well as increase space,” said Mark Humphrey. “The renovation had to be light, bright, warm and homely. Generous ceiling heights were requested. As the owners entertain regularly, the spaces had to function well, for both formal and informal gatherings. The design was not to impose on their neighbours. All aspects of the clients’ brief – including their budget – have been delivered. A consultative design process yielded a modern and vibrant dwelling.
