“The client wanted a single storey, three bedroom, mud-brick house with curved walls, at their beautiful Loch property,” said David Anderson of Korumburra Design. “The house was to be constructed on a raised plateau centrally located within a ‘horse shoe’ shaped bend in a creek. The design solution is a unique and functional house on this unique site. Innovative use of materials is a key feature, from post and beam construction to the radiating rafters and roof trusses. The structure has been designed to be constructed in an economic and efficient manner. The project fits all the client’s requirements and the limited building area. It also takes full advantage of the excellent outlook provided by the site. Most importantly, the clients are very pleased with the end result.”
