Our client required a head office and distribution warehouse for Burson Auto Parts at Gower Street, Preston. It had to be a distribution centre which is capable of serving all the Burson’s stores across Melbourne. The design involves the operational, flexibility, and administrative requirements for the business to be considered. The project required us to be sensitive when combining masterplanning, design development through to completion.
This building exhibits a strong presence in the street and makes a bold architectural statement, by means of using rectilinear form and blue tinted glazing. The juxtaposition of the office and warehouse forms was thoughtfully considered by the balancing of the buildings’ scale.
A variety of different innovative products enhance the architectural built form of the building, including reflective laminate glass, BlueScope Steel and Alucobond, as well as the architectural blade features.
