Rusk Restaurant Renovation
The client wanted a restaurant not bistro, with interiors to reflect an international flavour and an Asian twist, complementing the chef’s style of cooking. The outcome is a 128 seat restaurant (75 downstairs, 25 upstairs, 8 outdoor), with a state-of-the-art commercial kitchen incorporating all modern cooking appliances. A waiter station, bar and reception feature Japanese Black timber finishes, horizontal grain and coffered panelled front, curved for patrons’ traffic flow. High grade vinyl flooring was selected for ease of cleaning, visual impact, cost effectiveness and noise reduction. Lighting has been cleverly used to confuse the boundaries of harsh lines. Latest technology has been used, including an alarm monitoring system, for all entertainment and security needs. The transformation of this property underscores the integrity of the project. The clean lines and colour scheme all combine to establish a true restaurant theme – an essential ingredient of the client’s brief. The restrained use of materials for the floor, banquettes and staircase, all assist in successfully articulating the dining area. The overall presentation provides a confident image which has been competently designed to attract even the most discerning of diners.
