From a butcher’s shop to city fringe ‘Chic’ dwellings, the transformation of the existing extremely tired building is an excellent example of infill redevelopment opportunities.

The project brief was to push the boundaries/envelope considerably further; however the designers quickly alerted their clients of the possible opportunities and constraint of the site.

The end result is a three-dwelling redevelopment including the full restoration of the existing shop.

Careful consideration of the materials palette allows the new additions to contribute positively to the streetscape but remaining sympathetic to the existing.

With clever consideration of kitchen/dining joinery and ceiling treatment design, the interior spaces are light filled and well-proportioned for the size of the dwelling.

The sighting of the existing building on a street corner provided an excellent opportunity for a multi-residential development. The final outcome is a positive result of infill multi-residential development, best described as ‘Top Cut’.
