Judging Criteria

Entries are judged on the quality of the design process, as being a balanced integration of the following inherent elements that are incorporated into the design of the project:

Aesthetics
Environment
Feasible Cost Solution
Social
Technical

Winners in each category will feature a harmonious and outstanding integration of these elements, and will also demonstrate innovation in any one of the above elements.

If, in the opinion of the Judges, entries in any particular category do not meet the standards commensurate with the standards of the competition, the Judges reserve the right not to grant an award in any such category.

The major award – the Building Design of the Year – is selected as the most outstanding submission from the major award category winners.
