The brief was to provide a contemporary, minimalist home maximising the secluded cove views. In achieving a most satisfactory outcome for the client, a seamless vista has been created through the extensive use of Viridian double-glazing and high performance large panes of Low E glass and stackable sliding doors. Windows by AWS Commercial and articulated fixing details allow abundant light to fill the minimalist spaces enabling the contemporary design to connect with the greater landscape.

Sanctuary Cove proved to be a worthy winner of the "Most Effective Use of Glass". In a hotly contested category, the entry impressed the Judges; not only with its large use of, but imaginative use of glass.

From the 'see-through' entry to the stackable sliding doors, this house has been designed with glass in mind.

The use of steel framing also benefits the imaginative use of glass here, with cantilevered lintels incorporated to allow for high-level and clerestory glass panels which seemingly float.

The designer has succeeded in creating a house filled with light. The resultant views across this picturesque cove are evidence of the benefits, which are as clear as the glass itself.
